Reviews & ratings
Real star reviews for every corner of your academy moderated by you, trusted by everyone else
Courses, instructors, library books and your academy as a whole — every one earns its own star score from real, verified students. Every review waits in a queue until you publish it, so what shows up is always the truth, on your terms.
- Courses · instructors · books · platform
- Pending until you approve it
- Scores recompute automatically
Social proof that quietly sells your next course
A star-review engine built into every course, instructor page, book and your academy — with you always in control.
From verified student to public score
A review, live in four steps
Nothing gets published without you seeing it first — and nothing gets in the door unless it was earned honestly.
A real student earns the right
Bought and watched the course, actually studied with the instructor, or owns the book — checked on the server, never taken on trust.
They leave a star and a comment
A 1–5 star score plus an optional written opinion, submitted from the storefront or the course player.
It waits for you, pending
Every submission lands in your moderation queue first — not public, not counted, until you decide.
Publish, and the score updates
One tap publishes it to the public page and recomputes the average instantly — no drift, ever.
Every corner of your academy
One rating engine, four review surfaces
Courses, instructors, library books and the platform itself each keep their own dedicated review ledger — so deleting a course or removing an instructor safely takes their reviews with it, with nothing orphaned behind.
- Course reviews power the storefront score
- Instructor reviews build a public reputation
- Book reviews sell the next read
- Platform reviews capture the whole experience
Full moderation control
Every review waits for your OK
A submitted review always starts pending — never public, never counted, and its author can still edit it. From your console you publish it, hide it (kept but off the public page and out of the score), or delete it outright.
- Pending by default, editable by its author
- Publish to go live and count toward the score
- Hide to pull it without losing it
- Delete removes spam or abuse for good
No fake reviews
Only real students can leave a review
Eligibility is checked on the server every time, never trusted from the browser — a course reviewer bought and watched it, an instructor reviewer actually studied with them, and a book reviewer owns or downloaded it.
- Bought and started watching the course
- Genuinely enrolled in the instructor's course
- Owns or downloaded the library book
- Verified server-side, every single time
Four review types, one console
The review that fits each part of your academy
Every type shares the same moderation workflow — only the eligibility rule and the target change.
What students say about the course
Left by a student who bought the course and watched at least one lesson — the score shows on the storefront course page and in your course list.
What students say about the instructor
Left by a student who took one of the instructor's courses — builds a public reputation that follows them across every course they teach.
What readers say about the book
Left by a reader who owns or downloaded a published library book — the score shows on the storefront book page.
What everyone says about your academy
Left by any signed-in user — students, instructors, affiliates and more — about the platform as a whole; the lightest eligibility rule of the four.
Everything a review console needs
Built for real moderation, not a comment box
The details that turn user opinions into a trustworthy, on-brand storefront signal.
Star ratings, 1 to 5
A simple star score plus an optional written opinion — stars-only reviews are always welcome.
Pending moderation queue
Every new review lands in a queue first, filterable by target, rating and status.
Publish, hide or delete
Publish to go live, hide to pull it reversibly, or delete abuse for good — your call, always.
Scores recompute automatically
The average and count are rebuilt from published reviews on every change — never a drifting counter.
One reviewer identity, every role
Students, instructors, affiliates and more resolve to the same reviewer card across every review type.
Bulk actions & export
Publish, hide or delete a whole selection at once, or export the current filter to Excel or PDF.
Search & filter by target
Filter by course, instructor or book, plus rating, status and date, in one server-side table.
Escaped, spam-safe comments
Every comment renders escaped, never as raw HTML — a stored-XSS guard on a public-facing surface.
All included

Owners who stopped worrying about fake reviews
Academies using moderated reviews to build real, sellable trust.
A one-star drive-by used to sting. Now every review is checked against a real purchase and a real lesson watched — I only ever see reviews worth reading.
I hide the odd angry comment while I sort it out with the student, and it comes right back once we've fixed things. Nothing is ever truly lost.
Instructor reviews turned into a recruiting tool — a strong public score is now the first thing new teachers ask to see before they sign on.
Questions
What academy owners ask about reviews
No. Eligibility is checked on the server every time: a course review needs a bought-and-watched enrollment, an instructor review needs real enrollment in their course, and a book review needs ownership or a download. Platform reviews are the one exception — any signed-in, active user may leave one.
No. Every review starts pending — not shown anywhere, not counted in any score — until you publish it from the moderation console. Its author can still edit it while it waits.
Hide is reversible — the review stops showing publicly and drops out of the score, but it is kept and can be published again later. Delete is permanent — use it for spam or abuse you never want to see again.
Course and platform reviews are always included. Instructor reviews follow your instructor-management feature, and book reviews follow your library feature — both are part of the higher plans.
Yes, while it is still pending — they can edit the rating and comment right up until you publish it. Once published, only your moderation actions (hide, publish, delete) apply.
It is never an incrementing counter. Every publish, hide or delete recomputes the average and count from scratch over the currently published reviews, so the number you see can never drift out of sync.
